This page is a place where we can list our specific prayer needs. Please check back here often to see if there is a particular need for the week. If there are no specific needs for the week, the following list provides a great guide for how to pray for us, for our work and for the people that we are called to serve.
Prayer Requests for us:
1. Health for us as we adjust to life in Indonesia. We get sick much more often here.
2. Understanding of the culture and language. We spend our days in language school, which is a challenge and often difficult.
3. Our marriage. Pray for unity, love, patience and fun in our marriage.
4. Protection. We are Americans living in a foreign country with various new dangers, ranging from crazy traffic to religious differences.
5. Relationships with our Indonesian neighbors. Pray for wisdom and understanding of their language and culture as we spend time with them. Pray for opportunities to love and serve them.
Prayer Requests for Indonesia:
1. The economy. Many people are out of work. Gas prices are starting to rise, which soon increases the costs of many other things. Everyday, Indonesians deal with the stress of having too many bills and not enough income. Financial stress leads to other stresses in families.
2. That Indonesians would seek God and find Him.
3. Religious tensions. While Indonesians in our town are friendly toward everyone, religious tensions under the surface continue between Christians and Muslims. Each year, dozens of Christian churches are shut down by the government, often due to neighborhood dislike and complaint of them.
4. The government. Pray for integrity in all levels of the government, from the local police to the presidents office. Indonesians are often frustrated by continuing corruption in their government officials.
